From November 8 to November 9, the “2022 Global Smart City Cooperation and Development Conference”, co-sponsored by the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was successfully held at the Shanghai International Convention Center. Vincent, CEO of Westwell, was invited to participate in the special session for Dubai City at the conference where he shared insights on “Westwell Driving the Acceleration of the Smart City Construction in the Middle East.”

During his speech, Zhang Rong mentioned that Westwell actively responds to the call for Sino-Arab cooperation, empowering Middle Eastern construction amid the wave of digitization.

In 2021, Westwell's autonomous driving commercial vehicle, the Q-Truck, formed an autonomous driving truck fleet and officially arrived at Phase II of Khalifa Port. Westwell is honored to establish autonomous driving operations in the UAE. The Q-Truck fleet pioneered the commercialized “agent operation” model, saving customers upfront procurement costs while enabling intelligent efficiency improvements with minimal investment. This led to the port becoming the first in the Middle East region to deploy autonomous driving.

In October 2022, the autonomous driving project was awarded the “Award of Contribution on Safety” by CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal Company Limited (CSP ADT), marking the high recognition of Abu Dhabi Port for the autonomous driving operations of Westwell.

In 2022, Westwell's Q-Truck entered Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, officially launching an autonomous driving commercial project in this "City of the Future." This initiative assists the local government and port enterprises in achieving more precise management, enhancing operational efficiency, and continuously supporting the digital transformation of Middle Eastern ports.
