2021-06-10

Recently, the official list of TOP30 outstanding artificial intelligence pioneers, known as the Super AI Leader (SAIL) Awards, was announced, recognizing the leading projects in the field of artificial intelligence at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Included in this prestigious list is Westwell's "Full-Time Autonomous Electric Q-Truck Mass Production Commercialization Project."

This year's SAIL Awards attracted numerous exceptional global projects for consideration, featuring top-tier enterprises such as Huawei, Baidu, Alibaba, JD, GE, as well as renowned institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, University of Liverpool, and the University of Waterloo's international academic research institutions. The participating projects were diverse, mainly focused on AI chips, critical general technologies, and autonomous driving projects, leading to intense competition.

The selection process for the SAIL Awards was coordinated by the Shanghai Development Research Center of Economy and Informatization. Notably, the judging process for this year's SAIL Awards continued to follow an expert-recommendation system, composed of experts from the World Artificial Intelligence Conference Presidium, the Shanghai AI Strategy Consultation Expert Committee, as well as experts from the technology, investment, and media sectors, forming the SAIL Award Review Committee responsible for recommendations and evaluations.

This is the second time Westwell has been nominated for the SAIL Award, following its previous nomination at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in 2019. This recognition signifies the industry's acknowledgment of the company's capabilities in the mass production of artificial intelligence.

With the establishment of goals such as "peak carbon" and "carbon neutrality," the demand for Q-Truck has increased significantly. Its carbon emissions have reduced by 66%, enhancing energy efficiency and contributing significantly to optimizing energy structures in port areas. This advancement marks a significant move towards greener, smarter, and more autonomous operations.

As the world's first commercially available autonomous driving project, the Q-Truck by Westwell continues to upgrade its autonomous driving commercial ecosystem. Despite the pandemic, it ventured globally such as Thailand and Abu Dhabi's China Merchants Port, empowering the smart output of the Belt and Road Initiative. It has also supported logistics automation in the post-pandemic era, showcasing China's prowess in intelligent manufacturing services.

In April 2020, six full-time autonomous and electric heavy truck Q-Truck mass production vehicles of Westwell were successfully shipped to the Laem Chabang terminal in Thailand at the important node of the “Belt and Road”. After one year's safe operation, the operation efficiency on the shore has been continuously up to the level of manned driving efficiency with stability and fully put into commercial operation. Westwell will make consistent efforts to promote the integration of industrial chain of innovation chain and give full play to its two-wheel driven force in the market and technology, to serve the industries of large logistics and large city transportation, etc. with artificial intelligence technology, so as to help customers in these industries to further improve the overall labor production efficiency with intelligent products. From Human to Human.
