Intelligent Connectivity Generating Future: Westwell Unleashes Smart New Products at 2023WAIC
Intelligent Connectivity Generating Future: Westwell Unleashes Smart New Products at 2023WAIC
2023-07-06

From July 6th to July 8th, 2023, Westwell showcased three smart new products - Q-Truck, Q-Tractor, and TerminalGPT, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC). Building upon our Ainergy strategy, our focus is on the digital transformation and greening of various scenarios such as sea, land, air, rail, and factory. We are dedicated to transforming the logistics of supply chains with AI and New Energy technology.

Q-Truck: Creating a Large-Scale New Energy Autonomous Commercial Truck Fleet in the UK

Q-Truck, the cab-less electric autonomous commercial vehicle, with the new generation fusion perception architecture, is equipped with industrial-grade long-range high-precision binocular cameras, Lidar and various other sensors. It integrates intelligent algorithms and a complete full-stack system, enabling it to possess powerful perception and decision-making capabilities, just like humans. We are honored by the interest of new friends in our independently developed Q-Truck, the electric autonomous heavy-duty truck, showcased at Booth H1-C121 at the 2023WAIC. With our PowerOnair, the intelligent energy service, Q-Truck can complete battery-swapping in just 5 minutes. Using the new energy Q-Truck can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50 tons per unit per year. This reduction is equivalent to the planting of 4,545 trees and the creation of a green space of 113,400㎡ per year.

Starting from 2020, Q-Truck has served partners and customers from countries such as Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and Mexico, realizing mixed mode operation between manned and unmanned internal traffic. In June 2023, Hutchison Ports Port of Felixstowe has signed an agreement with us, for an additional 100 battery-powered autonomous Q-Trucks developed by Westwell. We will collaborate to build the largest electric autonomous commercial vehicle fleet to date, and build battery-swapping infrastructures and related services to support the operation of the fleet. By doing so, we will further advance the commercial application and value exploration of autonomous driving technology in global container ports.

Q-Tractor: Enabling Diverse Autonomous Logistics Transport Scenarios for Airports, Factories, and More

Q-Tractor, unveiled at the 2023WAIC, is a new energy unmanned electric tractor of Qomolo powerd by Westwell. It is suitable for various scenarios such as airports, factories, and logistics centers, and can be used for small cargo transportation and baggage towing in logistics operations. With a maximum payload of 40 tons, it can achieve 24/7 all-weather transportation with zero pollution and emissions, contributing to Global Goals.

Based on autonomous driving platform and multi-sensor fusion technology of Q-Pilot , Q-Tractor supports 360° precise perception, intelligent positioning, precise operation in various scenarios, and autonomous charging. In addition, it has advanced intelligence to adapt to multiple scenarios, and can also flexibly switching between manned and unmanned driving modes, and provides multiple safety mechanisms.Creating intelligent scenarios, including smart airports, requires high standards for route standardization, operations management, and the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of logistics. Q-Tractor, with its intelligent connectivity capabilities, can enhance the logistics operation efficiency in scenarios such as airports and factories. Moreover, its excellent human-machine interaction functionality, coupled with deep integration with systems like WellFMS and WellSim (independently developed by Westwell), empower users to have real-time control over the operation status of Q-Tractor, efficiently manage vehicle transportation tasks, and achieve unmanned cargo transportation round the clock and throughout the entire process.

TerminalGPT: Breaking the Boundaries of Container Logistics Operations and Energy Efficiency

The new intelligent robot expert in container logistics, TerminalGPT, is developed by Westwell based on large model technology, aimed at improving operational efficiency for our customers. We are committed to building a more comprehensive digital capability through TerminalGPT, enabling more cost-effective and efficient allocation of production factors in the production and logistics processes.

It has the ability to autonomously learn from the experience and operational habits of large-scale logistics scenarios, utilizing this big data for intelligent recommendation and holistic planning. Additionally, TerminalGPT can connect with various intelligent and information systems, such as WellOcean and Qomolo from Westwell, maximizing their value and efficiently managing vehicles, personnel, space, energy, and other aspects in multidimensional operational scenarios.

TerminalGPT was initially applied in intelligent port scenarios in the field of large-scale logistics. Integrated with WellFMS, our fleet management system, it provides users with intelligent recommendations that assist in making optimal decisions (minimizing energy consumption, determining the optimal route). This enhances port operational efficiency, while also supporting carbon reduction and environmental protection efforts.

From seaports to railway ports, land ports, factories, and airports, Westwell has successfully implemented production-based logistics hub scenarios. Through ongoing industry insights and practical experiences in diverse scenarios, we remain committed to the Ainergy strategy, which combines AI and New Energy, with the aim to enhance the transportation efficiency of large logistics efficiency and lean practices.

Currently, Westwell has provided products and services to over 160 customers and partners in more than 18 countries and regions. With a focus on the global market and a dedication to expanding and optimizing new relationships between human and AI, we have established support teams to better serve our global customers in the smart container logistics chain.
