Westwell\'s Global Driving Project Honored with the \"Safety Contribution Award\" by Abu Dhabi Port
2022-10-09

Recently, Westwell received the Safety Contribution Award from CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal (CSP ADT), a customer operating in the China Merchants Port in Abu Dhabi. This award symbolizes high recognition from Abu Dhabi Port for Westwell's global driving operations.

Mohammed Al Tamimi, Deputy CEO of CSP ADT, expressed gratitude in his address to all project staff for their dedicated efforts. He acknowledged Westwell's outstanding contributions and achievements in project management related to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) as well as their commitment to safety, health, and environmental protection.

In 2021, the Global Driving Project of COSCO Khalifa Port Phase II Terminal in Abu Dhabi was officially put into operation, and Westwell helped the port to be the first port in the Middle East to deploy global driving. So far, it has successfully reached the milestone of 4 million safety working hours. By initiating the new mode of “agent operation” for commercialization of Q-Truck fleet, Westwell has saved the purchase cost in the early stage for customers and helped them improve intelligent efficiency experience with small investment.

Since the first vehicle's deployment in 2018, Westwell has prioritized safety. Regarding vehicle operations, the company adopts multiple redundant sensors and designs active and passive devices. In on-site safety testing, Westwell has developed V2X products, and container information acquisition devices expand the vehicle's field of view, ensuring information linkage throughout the entire factory area to avoid blind spots. In terms of processes, Westwell has established unified safety standards throughout research, design, deployment, and delivery. Up to now, the company has received certifications such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO27001, ISO45001, GB/27900-2011 After-Sales Service System, Intellectual Property Management System, and EU CE Certification, effectively enhancing the international competitiveness of its products.

In the future, Westwell will continue to focus on intelligence and green initiatives. It will persist in its global strategy concerning global driving heavy-duty trucks, intelligent networked heavy-duty trucks, and new energy swapping stations. The company aims to build an intelligent driving ecosystem in collaboration with more ecological partners, delving into container logistics resource allocation and transportation network construction. This effort will assist logistics companies in digital transformation and upgrading, achieving sustainable development that is green, intelligent, and efficient.
